Here atbellabox, we’re obsessed with Korean beauty. We also like to look after our skin with pure, natural ingredients. So we’re pretty darn smitten with our latest discovery, Korean skincare brand innisfree! Here are 5 reasons we think this could be true love.
1.innisfree is natural
In fact, innisfree is Korea’s first natural skincare brand. Founded in 2000, innisfree uses pure ingredients (at least 70% natural) sourced from the spectacular Jeju island. Jeju is a South Korean volcanic island blessed with clean air, warm sunlight, fertile soil and pollution-free pure water. It’s a UNESCO world heritage site and on this island Innisfree star ingredients including green tea, volcanic clay and tangerine are sourced.
2.And environmentally responsible
Not only do they use natural ingredients, they’re committed to reducing their carbon footprint. They run a bottle recycling campaign and use eco-friendly packaging. To date, Innisfree have collected 8,951,106 bottles for recycling!
3. innisfree addresses8 different skin concerns
Not everyone is concerned with acne or wrinkles, and Innisfree caters to a wide range of skin concerns. 8 to be precise. There’s Jeju seaweed for wrinkle care, soybean for firming and lifting, Jeju orchid for anti-ageing, tangerine peel for whitening, volcanic clay for pore purification and products for spots and intense moisturisation, too.
I trialled several products in the Green Tea Balancing line, designed for combination skin. The products are light and beautifully hydrating, without blocking pores or exacerbating oiliness. The Green Tea Balancing Skin is a lovely liquid toner. Made with Jeju green tea and green tea seeds, it has a water-like texture, smells incredible and absorbs in an instant for a refreshed, hydrated complexion. I either followed this with the lotion, or the cream for a more intense moisture burst.
As my skin is a little dry at the moment, I also used the Green Tea Seed Serum which is part of the special hydrating and nourishing line. With Dual Moisture-Rising Technology™ derived from green tea and green tea seed oil, the fresh green tea deeply hydrates your skin and the green tea seed oil creates a strong moisture barrier to keep the skin moisturised longer. This was heaven to use and my favourite product. And I’m happy to say that after two weeks of using Innisfree my skin is softer than ever.
4. The sheet masks are amazing!
No Korean beauty brand would forget about sheet masks, and innisfree has dozens! My favourite is the Moisturising Second Skin Mask, made from a fermented soybean sheet. Deliciously cool on the skin, my face lapped up the goodness and felt more hydrated for days.
5. They do the best lip tint. Ever.
They’ve got mineral powders, lifting mascaras, cushion foundation compacts and more. But the product I am most obsessed with? The Eco Fruit Tint! Made with raspberry, orange and petal extracts, it gives the lips a long-lasting wash of bright, fruity colour. Kind of like you’ve been sucking on a raspberry redskin.
