The Oscars are here! It’s been a fantastic award season filled with drop dead gorgeous dresses, and now we’ve finally reached the pinnacle. The Academy Awards. The biggest event in Hollywood.
The stars have been in hair and makeup since sunrise getting ready for the big event. So what are they wearing? Who got it right? Who got it wrong? Let’s find out.
Everyone’s dream best friend Anna Kendrick was a vision in peach. Her glamorous Thakoon gown had just a hint of sexiness, and her updo was sheer perfection.
The best thing about 50 Shades Of Grey was Dakota Johnson – and this sleek red dress confirms her arrival as a rising Hollywood starlet. She brought mum Melanie Griffith as her date.
The eternally glam Marion Cotillard went with this loose white dress. It probably wouldn’t work on most ladies, but at least she’ll be comfortable through the long Oscars ceremony. Oscars ceremony.
An Oscar nomination deserves a big dress, and The Theory Of Everything star Felicity Jones definitely delivered in this custom Alexander McQueen. We just wish the colour was a little more exciting!
A bold choice from our Margot, but she gets lost in this vampy black dress. Thank god for the splash of lipstick brightening up her look! Experiment with your own bright lip with ModelCo Party Proof Lipstick in Matte Stiletto.
The bandeau makes this silver gown a daring choice for Australia’s Naomi Watts. Love the pattern on the fabric.
Reminder: this lady just had a baby. Gone Girl’s Rosamund gives us a bit of leg in her stunning red lace Givenchy.
It’s going to be a big night for Boyhood’s Patricia Arquette. Her one shouldered black and white Rosanna Getty fits her like a glove.
Our queen wore a beaded white gown. It’s not quite the red carpet moment that last year’s Cinderella dress was, but she still works this Calvin Klein better than anyone else could.
We would have loved to see a jewel tone on Julianne Moore – but can you ever go wrong with sequined Chanel?
The comeback kid. A few years ago Sienna Miller was an outcast in Hollywood. Now she’s starring in Oscar nominated films and showing off that red carpet style that made her an icon.
Aren’t we all a little over peplums? Kerry’s always happy to push the boundaries of fashion, but this ensemble is reminiscent of a decorative tablecloth.
Now that’s how you accessorise a black dress. La Blanchett wins the red carpet yet again.
Reese Witherspoon Reese knows when to go for a classically simple look, and there’s no time like the Oscars for perfect tailoring. Reese has played up her eyes with light brown and bronze tones – copy the look with theBalm Nude Tude Eyeshadow Palette.
She wore pink when she won her own Oscar, and now Gwyneth is giving us another pink moment with the rose on her shoulder. To her credit, on anyone else this would look ridiculous but as usual Gwyneth looks incredible.
Sorry Nicole – you’ll always be Australia’s brightest star, but this colour is not doing you any favours.
A dress fit for a princess. J Lo knows how to turn heads on a red carpet. She’s a devoted Anastasia Beverly Hills girl, so for brows like Jennifer’s use the Anastasia Brow Wiz.
We don’t see Scarlett on the red carpet very often, so it’s nice to see her making a statement in a bold green dress. A nice contrast to all the nudes, blacks and whites.
She didn’t get a nomination, but she does get to present. Jennifer Aniston went with sparkly nude and her trademark loose hair, and as usual it’s working for her.
Has Emma been watching the latest season of Downton Abbey? There’s something a little 1920s about this look. Also a big score for the pale ladies out there – Emma shows us that a spray tan isn’t always a must for a big event.
Gaga’s one upping Amal Clooney by wearing red dishwashing gloves. Surprisingly she’s not showing off her engagement ring, but that dress has enough sparkle to last a lifetime.
Pregnant Keira embraced her hippy side in this unusual printed dress. She also posed for photos with Lady Gaga, which leads to the question of what on earth would they have to talk about?
We must finish with Meryl, who gave us a bit of leg on the red carpet. She’s been to a million award shows, and of course she’s nominated again this year. But this simple black suit says “I’m here for the free drinks”.
