It’s travel time – I’m about to head off on a quick two week trip to Europe over Christmas!
I consider myself a pretty seasoned traveller, and I have my plane routine down to a fine art. I always sit in an aisle seat so that I can’t get trapped when I’m desperate for the bathroom, I avoid alcohol and fizzy drinks for the duration of the flight, I eat every single thing on offer, and I try to adjust to my destination’s timezone by only sleeping when it would be night there. I always wear trackies, a comfortable t-shirt, a hoodie and my black converse sneakers.
Here’s what will be in my carry on bag for the long flight from Melbourne to Edinburgh via Doha. Travelling is when my bellabox samples really come in handy!
Body Lotion
I’ll be taking a little bottle of Aveeno Daily Moisturising Lotion with me. I’m a big fan of this after taking the Jennifer Aniston Challenge earlier this year! I don’t know if this happens to anyone else, but sometimes I notice my skin literally flaking off when I’m on the plane. This is a lifesaver for my hands and arms, and I take it into the bathroom with me and apply to my legs and stomach if my skin is feeling really dry.
Cleanser
I recently picked up a little bottle of Neutrogena Oil Free Acne Wash in the bb office. I’ve mentioned before that I have always struggled with pimples, and I am actually really enjoying this cleanser. So I’ll definitely have it in my travel bag for a mid-flight cleanse!
Face Wipes
Face wipes are the biggest lifesaver ever when travelling. Of course you can use them for removing makeup and cleaning your skin, but they are also very handy for a quick wipe down in the bathroom while you’re flying! I’ll be travelling with wotnot sensitive wipes.
Treatment
My skin dries out a lot on the plane, so I’ll be applying the Gatineau Paris Melatogenine Futur Plus radiance mask to my face after we have our evening meal. This mask can be used for an express 10 minute treatment, or it can be left on overnight. Don’t worry – it absorbs like a moisturiser so I’m not going to look totally weird in my seat!
Moisturiser
Before I get off the plane I’ll want to apply a light moisturiser to my face. I love Hydro Peptide Face Lift Advanced Ultra-Light Moisturizer because it’s packed full of Peptides, Antioxidants and Triple Hyaluronic Acid to really energise my skin. And luckily I picked up a sachet from the bb office!
Eye Serum
I don't want to look puffy or really tired after a long flight, so an eye serum is a must. I'll have Acorelle Youth Protector Eye Serum in my bag with me. It contains Api Oleo Actif (AOA) complex which helps to smooth the eye contour, reduce dark circles and rejuvenate your eyes! Buy it now in the bb store.
Sleep Essentials
I struggle to sleep on a plane, and the only way I can ever drift off is with an eye mask and neck pillow. I’ll also be taking a little spray bottle of In Essence Sleep Easy Pillow Mist. I’ll spray this on my neck pillow to help me drift off – and it will also be useful once I arrive if I’m suffering from jet lag!
Brauer Calm
Sometimes I need a little more help getting comfortable and relaxed on a plane, particularly if I'm feeling a bit anxious or can't sleep. Brauer Calm contains ingredients traditionally used in homeopathic medicine to help relieve stress, mild anxiety, restlessness and sleeplessness. This is an oral liquid, and just a small dose will help you relax and calm down.
iPhone and Headphones I love to listen to audiobooks while I’m on the plane. I find it really relaxing, and it requires a lot less concentration than watching a movie or reading a book. I’ll be listening to Lena Dunham’s Not That Kind Of Girl.
