What does a beauty editor do when they’re sick? A pampering treatment of course! I was home sick yesterday, and I spent my time giving my hair a deep treatment and re-reading Gone Girl.
I really wanted to try out the Purederm Botanical Choice Vital Radiance Hair Mask in Honey, which some of you may have received in your October bellabox. These masks come from Korea, and as you may have noticed the packaging was not in English - although if you purchase them at Kmart you will definitely get English packaging. I did include some instructions on your product card, but I thought I’d personally take you through it so you can get the most out of this mask!
This mask is a specially formulated hair treatment which restores radiance to hair that has been weakened by colouring, bleaching and chemical treatments. It is enriched with honey, grapefruit, sweet almond and shea butter and delivers deep nourishment to your hair.
Now of course when I heard “honey” I assumed this mask might look just like honey and be really sticky. But that’s not the case! It is actually a richly textured creamy mask that feels incredibly moisturising. I don’t colour or bleach my hair, but it is pretty dry from all my straightening and blow drying so it can definitely use a moisture boost.
This mask is so simple to use.
After shampooing, apply a generous amount to wet hair. I have really long hair so I used the whole sachet, but if you have short hair you could definitely use half or even a third of the package and get multiple treatments.
Comb through to evenly distribute the produce from root to tips. I dumped the whole lot on my roots, so I had a lot of brushing to do. I used my beloved Wet Brush, but you could use a wide tooth comb or even just work it through your hair with your fingers.
Leave on for 5-10 minutes. I took this time to continue re-reading Gone Girl, but if you’re just doing this in the shower you can get on with the rest of your usual routine.
Rinse thoroughly. I didn’t use conditioner after the mask because I didn’t feel like I needed it – my hair was feeling seriously amazing!
Style as usual.
My hair felt so soft, and my dry ends looked so smooth and nourished. For a quick mask this was fantastic, and a little bit of pampering always helps out when you’re not feeling good!
The Purederm Botanical Choice Vital Radiance Hair Mask in Honey is available at Kmart and retails for $3.99 (and I promise it will be in English!)
Caution: Keep out of eyes. In case of accidental contact with eyes, rinse thoroughly with water. For external use only. Keep away from reach of children.
