FACT: If you look up Aussie girl-next-door in the dictionary, you’ll see Jess Hart looking back at you with her gorgeous gappy smile. The lady has low-key beauty and no makeup-makeup nailed, amirite?! And because she’s a mega business babe too, she’s even gone and created her own range of naturally-derived cosmetics. Girl crush factor? Next level.
While we can’t give you supermodel genes, we can help you look super gorge with some tips on creating an easy, breezy look using LUMA Cosmetics.
Step 1: Ace your base
During an Aussie summer, you don’t want a heavy, full-coverage base. LUMA’s Tinted Moisturiser with SPF15 has you covered, available in three different shades to even out your skin tone. Free from parabens, synthetic fragrances and artificial oils, it’s great for sensitive types. It’s also formulated with vitamins A, C and E to enhance and protect your skin. Clever.
For those tricky bits like under-eye circles, spots and around the nose, follow with the Flawless Concealer. With light-diffusing technology it helps distract from imperfections. To look more awake, apply sparingly in an upside down triangle under each eye, blending gently with your middle finger.
Step 2: Illuminate and glow
Now you’re all lovely and dewy, it’s time to fake a sunkissed glow. Buff some Powder Bronzer onto the areas of the face the sun naturally touches – the apples of the cheeks, the sides of the forehead, the bridge of the nose and the chin. Go easy and make sure you tap the brush first to remove any excess. You can always add more, it’s much harder to remove!
Next up, a teeny bit of the creamy Illuminating Highlighter. Use your finger to dab a little along your cheekbones, brow bone, décolletage or cupid’s bow… wherever you’d like a touch of shimmer.
Step 3: Get cheeky
Add a sweet flush to the cheeks by applying the LUMA Powder Blush to your apples and blending well towards the hairline. It’s super-pigmented, so a little goes a long way!
Step 5: Make eyes pop
Apply LUMA Daring Curves Mascara from the roots to the tips of the lashes. Apply 1-2 coats. (Blondes might like to try the Ebony Brown shade for a more natural hue).
If you’re wanting to go a bit more glam, add some eye shadow first. Choose your favourite duo: fawn/taupe (great for baby blues), wisteria/amethyst (ah-mazing for green eyes!) or sky-storm (perfect for brown eyes).
Step 6: Give lips some love
Finish up with a quick swipe of Natural Shine Lip Gloss. Enriched with beeswax and pomegranate (yum!) it’s not too glossy and comes in two super-natural shades: Natural Pink or Nude Shimmer.
