You’ve all got the memo by now: tanning is a no-no. But that doesn’t mean you can’t fake a little winter glow! Sun stripping is the hot new celeb beauty trend that’s oh-so-easy to achieve, and the fastest way to fool your friends into thinking you’ve been sunning yourself at the beach or on the slopes. All you need is a glow-getting foundation, a good quality bronzer and some simple blending skills to nail this shiny new contouring trend.
What is it?
Sun stripping is a crafty way of sweeping bronzer from cheek to cheek across the narrow part of your nose, ie where the sun would hit your face, to achieve a naturally sun-kissed effect. Freckles are a bonus, so let them shine through! (You can also make like JLo and brush some bronzer across your forehead if you so desire.)
First up is a beautiful base. Moisturise, prime, conceal and apply a dewy foundation or BB cream if you’re blessed with happy, healthy skin. Skip any other contouring, strobing or the like, and let your bronzer do the talking. Give the shimmer a miss and opt for a matte, powder bronzer. Using a blunt brush, tap off any excess then sweep bronzer in a stripe from the top of each ear across the apple of your cheek to the bridge of your nose, repeating on the other side. Now grab your blusher brush and get blending until you achieve the desired, post-holiday glow! bb tip: Add a slick of coral lippie to enhance your ‘tan’.
