While most makeup, from foundation to nail varnish, contains minerals like titanium dioxide, zinc oxide, mica and magnesium, truly mineral formulations will be free from parabens, preservatives, dyes, fragrances and other chemicals.
However, it’s important to note there is no real regulation surrounding what qualifies as ‘mineral makeup’ in Australia, so it pays to always read the ingredients and can keep an eye out for synthetic-sounding additions.
