For the attendees, it may be all about the movies, but for the rest of us, Cannes means one thing: swooning over the gorgeous frocks and Blake Lively's hair. Here's who owned the red carpet at the 69th Cannes Film Festival Opening Night Gala, bellas.
The Dutch stunner looked drop-dead in a plunging black gown with cut-outs and daring split. She wore her long, flaxen locks simply, swept back in the half-up style.
In her first Cannes red carpet outing, Bella looked oh la la-lovely in beaded, cut-away Cavalli. Her neck cuff and slicked high pony were the perfect pairing. Bien joué, Bella!
Blake is queen of the Cannes red carpet, year on year, and she owned the opening night in her shimmery nude gown with teeny tiny baby bump and big, bouncy waves. Goddess!
Araya A. Hargate
British-Thai actress and L’Oreal Paris ambassador Araya was feminine perfection in this gloriously frou-frou confection. Love the beaded choker and classic up-do.
We’d be smiling too if we looked this good in lilac. The Aussie actress is all class as ever in silver-trimmed Giuseppe Zanotti and fabulous neck bling. Bonus points for the sexy, side-parted do.
First-time Cannes juror Dunst was my pick of the bunch, in long-sleeved, floral Gucci. There is nothing I don’t like about this!
Jess continues to challenge the redhead rulebook, and is a ray of sunshine in vibrant yellow. The strapless, sweetheart-neck gown flattered her gorgeous figure and tousled red lob to a t.
Our other favourite redhead dazzled in a more gothic, inky affair. The Gucci gown was semi-sheer and featured heavily beaded cobras. Her best accessory? Her lush, simply centre-parted mane.
I am digging the long-sleeved, floral moment we’re having, as seen on Kirsten Dunst and again here on French actress, Alice Taglioni. This gown is making me green with envy and I adore the red lip and chic hair flicks on the blonde beauty.
It’s a brave colour choice for Miss Kendrick, and one that paid off. This yolk-yellow gown with train is extremely striking against her perfect ivory complexion. Her wavy brunette locks add to the old Hollywood effect.
Bucking the trend for frills and frocks, Victoria looked super sharp in a black bustier and pants combo. The sweetheart neckline and white trim kept it fresh and femme.
