Have you been browsing through your news feeds lately, thinking 'I get it. You're at NYFW! Enough with the pics already!' (Sob - why aren't I there too?)? Well, you aren't alone. I too feel the same way. However, rather than scroll as fast as you can to get back to the kitty videos, and other 'mere-mortal' stuff, take a minute to hone in on some of the beauty coming at you via insta, straight from the models mouth - or eyes in some insta-ences (geddit?) There's plenty a beauty look to steal should you spy it. If you've missed 4 of the best so far, read on...
Bold and bright lips at Prabal Gurung
Haven't got at least 19 bright lipsticks strewn throughout your handbags, bathroom cupboard, jacket pockets and car consol yet? Then your lips just haven't been living! Get on that bandwagon stat, and start with 2 key colours for spring - a bright coral red and a pop of punchy pink. My adoration for OCC Lip Tarsnever ceases when it comes to concentrated colour, hence my bloggish tirades until each and every bb'er owns at least one. AT LEAST! For your pink fix, try Strumpet. For the orange red? You can't go past Psycho - yes, it's really called that. And no, it wasn't named after yours truly, and one's crazed obsession. OCC indeed!
Glowing, dewy skin at DVF
Attaining spring skin is higher on my list than refreshing my wardrobe with breezy, easy, pretty pieces this season - of which I am doing lots of. So let's just say, my skincare routine has really kicked up a knotch. And it needed to after what felt like a long, hard winter. You can't fake nourishment like this lass, even with all the liquid illuminator in the world. Your skin needs to be hydrated to steal the DVF beauty style. My top choice for adding an instant hydration hit, also containing oils to norishing whilst at it? Egyptain Magic All Purpose Cream - a favourite backstage at every show since almost ever (fact). Must be tried to be believed, and you can trial it in a number of ways. Click here for more.
Shimmery, shiny peepers at Jason Wu
Ahhhh. Glitter lids. As much as I love them, the fall out just isn't worth it. Sorry Jason! Though, stellar look for the runway. What I will be stealing however, is the shimmery, shine of rose gold/bronze shadows adorning your models lids. Divine! And how brilliant offsetting it with a hint of black for contrast, with that thick mascara and deep shading along the crease line. I LIKE - as evidenced when @lollroberts pressed the little heart symbol underneath this very snap on her insta feed this morning. She liked it A LOT. How does she intend on recreating? With a shimmery, yet slightly matte shadow, like the Glamourflage Gypsy Jo eyeshadow in Midas Touch, that's how! She will also stop referring to herself in the third person now, least she sound like an egotistical beauty maniac!
Floral pins, at Zac Posen
Probably the most snapped beauty trend over the last few days has been this ballet-pretty look from Zac Posen. People are going gaga. Even smaller blooms pinned into locks at the Honor show confirmed that florals for spring will be huge (cue Meryl Streeps' Miranda Priestly: 'Florals? For spring? Groundbreaking' quote). Yes, I know this look couldn't get any more predictable, but if the real Miranda (aka. Anna Wintour) likes them, who am I to deny? They are incredibly cute! Attending the Spring Racing Carnival? Pin this image now to your hair inspiration board now. Even a well placed orchid in a messy up do would look amazing worn to a spring garden wedding. And it's as easy as popping by the florist and fastening with a few bobby pins. Affordable and on-trend! We like.
Which trend is your fave so far? Are you sick of NYFW being all up in your social media grill? Or are you love-ing-it! Let me know - Lauren
