Time to look down ladies - right down to your feet. Often neglected in winter, your feet can be liable to a whole lot of hatin' come summer, or your winter vaycay. No one wants their dry and cracked heels to show when wearing their most fab pair of summer sandals, but come now ladies - it's not the fault of the feet. Time for you to step up (literally) and get your pedi power on. Here's 3 of the best products to get your tootsies into tip top condition...
Have you ever heard of baby foot? Nor had I, until it landed on my beauty desk. Designed to lift and remove any dead skin from your feet, encouraging it to gently peel away, this treatment is far safer and friendlier to feet than a dodgy pedi. And did you know that procedures that involve skin penetration carry a greater risk of spreading disease because microorganisms (germs) can easily enter the body when the skin barrier is broken? 'Microorganisms that are present on dirty instruments which penetrate the skin have caused outbreaks of diseases such as hepatitis C and B', says the NSW governments health page regarding beauty treatments. I certinaly know which I prefer when comparing the ease of Baby Foot at home, in front of the telly for 2hrs compared to a fast, but potentially dangerous pedi at a salon. Simply pop the plastic 'socks' on your feet and the natural gel solution inside will do it's work. Over the next 7 or so days, any dead skin will flake away, leaving soft smooth skin behind.
Next up, when it comes to dry feet? The NS 8 Heel Balm Complex . This cream is great to use for dry heels, as well as foot maintenance. Specially formulated to absorb quickly, without being greasy this cream contains a broad spectrum of natural extracts, vitamins, exfoliators and moisturisers that work together to address all skin-heel problems at once. Try applying at night and popping feet into a pair of socks. You'll awake with totally conditioned tootsies!
Another top product for pedi maintenance at home is the USpa Organic Wild Thyme Foot Pumice. A simple scrub every few days in the shower will help to keep dry skin at bay between more time consuming (read: relaxation enforcing!) treatments. The scent of this product alone will make it a treat for noses and toes alike!
Lastly, you'll need a slick of colour on those toes to really make your feet feel special. I love a bold coral or pink, which always looks cute peeking out of a stunning pair of strappy sandals. Butter London is our latest obsession in the bb office, and with colours like Macbeth (above) or the ever popular Cake Hole, you'll easily find a shade to suit your toes.
