More Pure Fiji products arrived in our shop this week and it smells gorgeous in our warehouse! I have my eye on a Pineapple soap and the Star Fruit body lotion. Last month’s purchase was the Milk and Honey Sugar Rub, divine!
For those of you that have been with us since December, you may remember the amazing Savoir Faire Concealer you all received? Well, the clever ladies at SF have created a fab product that may or may not have something to do with concealer, which we here at bb have managed to get hold of for our bellas. Some of you will be receiving this little beauty in your September boxes and all I can say is it rocks! It has become a permanent fixture in my makeup bag and is handy for all kinds of things.
Last week I wrote about skincare from Daiso, a great Japanese shop where everything costs $2.80! This week I was fortunate enough to be sent some high end Japanese skincare from a brand called Pola. I have been using their Sakura Veil range, which is formulated with traditional Japanese extracts, and it has left my skin feeling very fresh and clear. Once I have finished this range, I have the Aglaira range to try, which is focussed on lifting and toning the skin.
Natalie and I went to the Hair and Beauty Expo a couple of weeks ago and were given a whole heap of goodies to play with. One of my favourite discoveries was a range of cleansing cloths impregnated with different ingredients to address specific skincare concerns. They are single use microfiber cloths that you add water to and cleanse your face with. The product I was given was a moisturising one enriched with prickly pear to sooth and nourish the skin. Prickly pear doesn’t sound too soothing but trust me, it is! I loved these, especially as I am so lazy at night, and can only be bothered using wipes to take my makeup off, so Yes to Blueberries and Wot Not wipes are a staple in my bathroom.
I am loving the Herban Essentials Yoga Towelettes at the moment. I must don a bikini next week, which sent me on a mad rush to the gym, so I threw a pack of these in my bag. Designed for use on Yoga mats, they are also great to use on the machines at the gym if you happen to follow a particularly sweaty man!
We get lots of people writing to us to ask for beauty advice, so this week we decided we would add another little bit to my Beauty Desk Update, called Beauty Concierge. Years ago, when I worked in London, Harrods had a beauty concierge - a man who had an encyclopaedic knowledge of beauty products. You would go to him and tell him of your beauty conundrum and he would guide you through the hallowed white beauty hall, black perfume hall or apothecary and help you find the perfect product.
At the time, I was the Head of Sales for a beauty company, so I did my best to bribe him to send his customers to my counters, but alas, he was impervious to bribery. His job was to help his customers find exactly what they needed; he was also a fabulous gay man, so it was hugely fun! Well, we don’t have the beauty halls of Harrods at our disposal, but I will take you on a virtual tour to find the right product for you. So if you have a burning beauty question, write it below in the comments and each week, starting next week, I will chose one and answer it! - Sam
