e.l.f products have landed in our store! I love how affordable they are; you can buy a whole heap of product for under $20; How good is that? I use their Essential Hypershine Gloss and it has lived in my hand bag since e.l.f sent us a stack of product to play with.
Benefit Brow Bar
Yesterday I spent the day in Sydney with Natalie, our brand manager who is based there. We visited a few of her brands, and one of them was benefit. Obviously I am familiar with the brand, as we have sampled them a few times and I have stopped by their counter to have a look at their products, but I haven’t spent a lot of time exploring the range. Our meeting was in Paddington, right near the store on Oxford St, so after we finished I thought I will stop by and really look at their product offering. Whilst trying one of their gorgeous eye shadows, I caught a glimpse of my unruly eyebrows so I decided to have my brows sorted at their Brow Bar. It was quick, painless and I emerged with perfectly arched brows. If you are in Myer, stop by their counter and make a booking - eyebrows are the frames of the windows to the soul after all!
We spend a bit of time talking about skincare here at bbHQ, we all have our fave products and brands and we often swap tips. Regardless of what brands you use, there are a few basic rules that you should stick by so I have created The Skin Care 10 Commandments.
Thou shalt drink water. Hydration is the key to good skin!
Thou shalt use an SPF. UV rays speed up the aging process.
Thou shalt know thy skin type and purchase products accordingly. It’s easy to get talked into a product you don’t need just because it’s new and exciting.
Though shalt cleanse your skin at least twice a day. In the morning to remove impurities and traces of your night products and in the evening to remove the days grime and prepare your skin for your skincare.
Thou shalt moisturise the neck and décolleté. This area is often the first to show signs of aging!
Thou shalt exfoliate. Dead skin build up prevents serums and moisturisers penetrating the skin and leaves the skin looking dull. Do this every couple of days, less frequently if you have oily skin.
Thou shalt use a serum. Serums penetrate deeper into the skin and can treat specific concerns such as pigmentation or anti aging.
Thou shalt body brush. Brush in an upwards motion towards the heart, this will help with cellulite. Cellulite is fat cells suspended in lymph fluids, and physically stimulating it will help your system to break it up and flush it out.
Thou shalt moisturise your body after your shower. We often neglect the skin on our body and applying a moisturiser after showering will help lock in the moisture.
Though shalt get enough sleep! Your skin is the largest organ of the body and reflects what is going on inside. If you are tired, your skin will reflect it.
Every Friday, Sarah buys us all lunch and we all sit in our kitchen, eat our lunch together and chat about what we are all doing on the weekend ahead, so today I thought I would bring a little treat from a favourite store on mine that has just opened in Sydney. Ladurée is a Parisian patisserie that is simply divine and they have just opened a little café/store in Pitt Street Westfield. Whenever I go to Paris, I stock up on their Rose Macarons; sadly the new store in Sydney doesn’t have these as yet, but their selection is still mouth watering. I selected the gorgeous Lanvin box and filled it with some goodies for our bella office beauties to enjoy as a reward for their hard work in getting the October box out. It was a test of will not to eat any of the Macarons before arriving back in the office! - Sam
Thanks Sam! We LOVED our treats! Do you follow similar skincare rules as Sam? or maybe you've tried e.l.f products yourself? Let us know!
