Luk Lip Nourishes have landed! Woot! Head over to the shop and stock up on a few colours ladies. They are all beautiful, subtle shades that will nourish the lips as well add a touch of colour. They are 100% natural, and considering how much lipstick we women eat over the course of our life, it’s a good thing they are edible! Lime and Ginger is my fave and is the best nuuuude colour ever.
Trying!
Neon Pink
When it comes to lipstick, until recently I have been a nude gloss or deep red lipstick kind of gal. Not really being one for colour, the bright hues of lipsticks have never really appealed to me. Until now. The girls in the bb office love colour - it is a veritable rainbow of brights upstairs and I am normally in all black, so I look like a crow amongst the rainbow lorikeets! But their colour choices appear to be rubbing off on me...
This week, Lauren and I went to a Grazia and Swisse breakfast at Crown in Melbourne and in the goody bags there was a Calvin Klein lipstick from their new colour range called 'Wow'. Side note – when attending an event where you are given a goodie bag, wait until you have left the venue before ripping into it to see what you scored. If you start digging into it while still at the event, it is seen as uncouth and amateur. You are supposed to graciously accept the bag, barely glancing at it while saying your goodbyes (‘fabulous event/product/movie, thank you so much for the invite dahling’), and then when you get around the corner, you can dive into it as if there is a free Alcide the Werewolf in the bottom. Anyway, after checking out our loot in the taxi, Lauren and I had a debate over the merits of the different shades of pink lipstick she currently has on the go. We both agreed that 'Wow' was pretty wow, and totally different to the other pinks she had. When we got back to the office I applied my 'Wow' and fell in love immediately. I then purchased a pair of shoes in the exact same colour because I loved it so much!
This had me thinking about how good beauty sampling is; I would never have bought that colour myself, but I loved it and have worn it most days since. This is what beauty sampling is all about. It encourages you to step outside your comfort zone and experiment with something new, whether it be makeup, skincare or fragrance. I now have a gorgeous new lipstick and matching shoes, and I am even currently eyeing off a neon pink necklace...
Talking About!
The Spring Racing Carnival
Spring Racing Fever has struck Melbourne. It’s all about the frocks, the shoes and the hats! We are thrilled to have been asked once again to provide bellabags filled with race day essentials for Metro Trains to give ladies catching the train to the races over the Melbourne Cup Carnival. There have been very serious discussions here at bbHQ about what one needs for a day at the races - apart from a fabulous hat and unlimited champagne, of course. So the bag has lots of little things in there to help you have a wonderful day. Forgot your lipstick? Getting a little sun kissed? Blisters from your new shoes? We’ve got your back sister - just check out your little bellabag. If you are travelling to Derby Day, Melbourne Cup, Oaks Day and Stakes Day in Melbourne on Metro Trains, keep an eye out at Flinders Street station for the Metro Trains Style Crew as they will be giving away bags to ladies dressed to impress for the races.
Are you going to the races this year? Maybe you are a fan of neon pink too? Let us know your thoughts!
