Who rocked the Emmys last night? We'll tell you! The stars of the tele turned it up a notch yesterday in LA and the results were lovely! We also can't help but mention that it was a sweltering day in Tinsletown - it was speculated that under all of the spotlights, our fave small screen senoritas would've been battling 40 degress on the RC! No matter what you thought of their looks, they all deserve a round of applause for that!
But beauty is our game, so here we dissect our top three looks, plus the products to rip them off and wear yourself! We also give you two great product tips for helping your makeup stand up to the test of camera flashes, heat and humidity, because a little birdy told me that summer is approaching? Could come in handy!
Sofia Vergara
I'm not sure if I remember a star so feminine and fun who really embraces her God given assets?! Who wouldn't want to be in this woman's company? Sofia's stunning smile was accented with neutral lipstick in a tone a couple of shades darker than her natural lip colour. Her tanned olive skin (hello that amazing Columbian heritage!) was played up with a subtle bronze glow and her eyes sparkled thanks to a subtle wash of tonal shadow and some incredible false lashes!
Trivia time! Did you know that Kate Mara, star of American Horror Story, is the sister of Girl With the Dragon Tattoo leading lady, Rooney Mara? If you didn't, you might be a little shocked! Kate favours a more romantic vibe with her hair, makeup and fashion choices, compared to Rooney's dark and thick fringed locks and structural gowns. But we think this sister looks divine at the Emmys! Kate chose pretty and pink tones on her lips and cheeks to match her dress, whilst showing a darker side with her flirty smokey eyes.
Gorgeous Ginnifer hit all the right notes with her tangerine frock, mod-style pixie crop and 60's winged eyes. Changing up her usual look, Ginnifer comes across as the stunning ingénue with her dark yet perfectly symmetrical eyes (this is not a carefree smokey look), shiny head of hair and nude toned lips. She has balanced each component of her look to perfection. Well played Ginni!
Now to set all of your makeup in place, like these ladies definitely did, make sure you use a great primer first. We love Inika's Certified Organic Pure Primer. This way, your base won't sweat off in the heat!
Then, once you've finished your look, spray a little setting mist over your face. It will also cool you down and refresh the skin, giving it a lovely dewy glow. We love Kosmea's Hydrating Rosewater Mist - which gets A LOT of use here at bb in the summer time!
Whose look did you love the most at this years Emmys? Did you see Sofia's derriere tweet? What a woman! - Lauren
