International Women’s Day kicks off this Friday and to celebrate, bellabox has teamed up with Share The Dignity to shift the focus on the women who most deserve the spotlight.
As a nod to this year’s theme, #balanceforbetter, bellabox is donating a self-care essentials box to Share The Dignity for every box purchased on the day. The 24-hour initiative will span across all of our boxes – Womens, Baby, Men's and Limited Edition – accounting for all transactions made between 12am and 11:59pm on Friday, March 8.
Why Share the Dignity?
Alongside our love for beauty, we’re a collective group of passionate feminists and advocates of self-care – we feel that our values strongly align with Share The Dignity, and we wanted to give back.
As a team of predominantly women, the organisation’s ethos is especially resonating: “Ensuring everyone is afforded the dignity so many of us take for granted.”
Of course, their efforts do just that. Through the collection of sanitary items, Share The Dignity provides for women in crisis, namely those experiencing homelessness and are victims of domestic violence. With thousands of pads, tampons and personal hygiene items collected every year, their work has created a world of difference to women in need.
Treating yourself or someone you admire to a box this Friday means you’ll get to share the treats with someone else, with a self-care essentials box matched to the needs of the charity.
Our one-of-a-kind community is sure as strong and powerful as they are beautiful. Earlier this week, we asked our bellas to share their strategies in balancing their lives. We were met with a magnitude of approaches to self-love and care; as well as helpful ways in tackling mental health.
Here are a few of our favourites:
- Staying hydrated
- Always listen to your body, always have faith
- Doing yoga, practicing mindfulness, and eating fruits and veggies daily
- Regular time out for me. Massages, nails and treats like that
- My cry time
- Be grateful for the smallest things, waddly ducks, the smell of rain, someone opening a door, burgers
- Making time to catch up with friends
- Prioritise skincare and mental health over everything
