It’s Workout Wednesday at bellabox HQ, and our personal trainer Dave dropped by the office to take us through a quick lunchtime workout as part of August’s Sport Your Style theme!
We wanted to know a few exercises that we could easily do throughout the day, whether it was a quick group session in our meeting room or simply standing up behind our desks. Of course bellabox is a very fun work atmosphere, so if you’re in a more corporate environment running into the meeting room to do twenty crunches might not be appropriate! As you can see, we were in a mix of different levels of gym clothes – some of us were totally dressed for working out, others just participated in their skirts and jeans.
First off we started with some squats. Remember to keep your feet shoulder width apart, toes slightly pointed out and push your booty out while you squat. Twenty is a good start!
Next up, lunges. Keep both feet pointed straight ahead, and try to do sets of ten on each leg.
Time to get our stomach muscles toned. We tried out some crunches, pushing our hands above our heads while holding them in a diamond shape.
We also did some core strenghthening exercises. Lying on our backs we held our legs above us like we were sitting on a chair and then slowly lowered them nearly to the group one at a time and then raised them back up.
Always finish off with some stretching so you don’t end up with sore muscles!
Remember, if you’re getting back into exercise after a break from it, start slow. Just get moving. Even a little bit of exercise is better than none at all!
