Who doesn't wish they were Blake for a day? Playing in the Gossip Girl wardrobe, being besties with Florence Welch of Florence and the Machine, and hanging with hot hubby Ryan Reynolds...plus wearing that incredible rock to boot! Here are our fave beauty picks as rocked by Blake and how to steal them for yourself - the next best thing to stealing her wardrobe!
We all came to love Blake after she burst onto our TV screens as the rich hottie with the triple-barrel surname on the Upper East Side: Serena Van Der Woodsen. Luckily for us, not only did the show gives us hours of entertainment (Loney Boy love sagas, her love/hate relationship with bestie Blair, not to mention her crazy Mother Lily) it also showcased some of the best fashion and beauty combos to hit the small screen since Sex and the City - in this Ed's opinion anyway.
Now that the show is preparing to draw to a close, we thought this was the perfect time to take a peek at Blake's bevy of beauty styles. She is also starring in the about to be released Savages with Senoir. Del Toro and Mr. Travolta, plus she just stepped out in her first public appearance since getting hitched...Now is the time to draw on some Blake-spiration in your beauty routine!
Va-va-voom!
Stepping out at the recent premiere for Savages, Blake rocked the classic red lip, glowing complexion and Veronica Lake waves. We like! Bombshell and blonde go hand in hand, so this style is a no-brainer for Blake, but brunettes and redheads looks just as amazing when wearing this vintage inspired 30's Hollywood starlet look! Start with getting a complexion that reflects the light, so that you look as bright as Blake. The best way to do this? Add a dollop of liquid illuminsor to your foundation before applying it to your skin. Then go back and add a little to your cheekbones, bridge of your nose and brow bones. We love the MeMeMe Beat the Blues Illuminator. Then add your false lashes to get a set as full as Blake's. Try the Eylure Ready To Wear 140's for an Old Hollywood style. The final touch? The bold red pout. Try the Savoir Faire bullet in Risque - a classic red that will pay for itself, ten times over.
Bronzed lady
Blake wore this bronzed look a few years back, but it still stands out as one of our favourites. She encorporated the tan leather elements of the dress into her beauty look with bronze shadow and blush. This is also a great example of how to wear a brown toned lip shade - many think that this shade is so 90's and don't give it a try, but the new brown tones are very complimentary to the tones of your natural lips. The key is to keep it light and sheer. For a similar look to Blake's, we recommend using a lipstick for a deeper shade of colour, followed by a glossy/balmy top coat. Try the Savoir Faire Mini Lipstick in Grace, before swiping on the luk beautifood Lip Nourish. For eyes, the Glamourflage Gypsy Jo eyeshadow in 'Midas Touch' looks fresh when blended all around the eye, especially close to the lash line like Blake, whilst the MeMeMe Blush Me! Blush box in Bronze looks stunning when swept across the cheek bones.
Chanel's dream newlywed
At her first appearance as a married woman, Blake wowed last night's Chanel celebration of the Bijoux de Diamants "1932" collection, commemorating the 80th anniversary revival and revamp of Coco's fine jewelry collection. Swoon! We love her soft pink lips and shimmering skin here. To get the skin on your bod looking just as fine, get yourself a sugar scrub. My fave is the Pure Fiji Coconut Scrub which leaves skin soft and smooth. Plus, it smells amazing! Blakes lids showcase a sweet touch of shimmer. Try a loose mineral eyeshadow for a similar look; Glamorous Minerals Mineral Shimmer Eye Dust is a great choice. For a great pink lip? Try the MeMeMe Poppy Tint for cheeks and lips - a hard working 2-for-1 product!
