Before there was Geordie Shore, one cute gal championed the often hard to understand accent of the Tyneside people. Also known for her crazy, fearless beauty and fashion choices, as well as churning out more than a few catchy dancing tunes, we though this lady would make a pretty great Fab Face. She is Cheryl Cole and this week's Fab Face feature!
Cheryl Cole has been performing since she was a 'wee one (before she'd met a certain footballer and her last name was still Tweedy) but her big break came when she entered the UK reality TV show, Popstars in 2002. After battling it out vocally, Cole bagged herself a place in the final line up of the female pop group to emerge from the show - Girls Aloud. Their debut single "Sound of the Underground" peaked at number one on the UK Singles Chart, and became the 2002 (and highly coveted by many an artist) Christmas number one - no mean feat in the world of Brit music sales! Since then, Girls Aloud dominated the British Pop scene - only one of the 20 songs they've released since 2003 didn't go to the top 10!
Cole's 2004 marriage to England and Chelsea footballer Ashley Cole (hence the new surname) was also highly publicised - and unfortunately so was his infidelity. However, Cheryl has seemingly always been one for progressing with her career above all else. After her successes as a judge on the UK's The X Factor, she was offered a spot on the US version, but was quick to leave. However, even this dint in her professional life didn't keep her down. Cheryl has continued her music career as a solo artist away from Girls Aloud and found multiple successes, both alongside other mainstream performers such a Will.i.am as well as on her own.
Her most recent single, "Say My Name" is currently getting plenty of air-time on our radios... and causing us to get a little dancy in our car seats! Written and produced by crowd pleaser Calvin Harris, it marks Cole's third, solo, number one single. We can't wait to hear more from the album A Million Lights! Go girl!
Cheryl is also a fashion trendsetter in the UK, appealing to the fast fashion senses of Brit High Street brands like Topshop. Of course, she chooses bold beauty looks to match! Check some out below...
For pretty pink lips like Cheryl's here, you can't go past a killer lip tint. We have been obsessed with MeMeMe's Poppy Tint - Cheek and Lip Tint, for months, which of course, you can wear on your pout, or on the apples of your cheeks! The playful glossy pink shade is perfect for adding a girly touch to your beauty look, like Cheryl's.
Cheryl also likes to play up her pretty peepers. She is a fan of shimmering eyeshadows and lots of liner! For a lovely shimmer shadow, you can't go past Glamorous Minerals Mineral Shimmer Eye Dust which is long lasting, paraben-free and hypoallergenic, so it will be kind to eyes. We love all three shades, Moonstone (a bright pearl tone, pictured), Pink Mist (a pretty blush shade) and Polished Silver (a metallic pewter) Wear them separately or all together, for a super shimmery style.
As far as liner goes, we love Eye of Horus Smokey Eye Pencil which is 100% waterproof and comes with a smudging tip to work the smokey eye look to perfection.
If you love a bold eye like Cheryl you'd be crazy not to have a packet of soothing face wipes handy in your bathroom cupboard, or next to your bed for easy makeup removal after a big night out! We recommend Yes to Cucumbers Soothing Facial Towelettes 30 pack. These refreshing wipes are hypoallergenic, non-comedogenic and oil-free whilst also enriched with natural aloe vera and green tea. Made with biodegradable, natural cloth they are as kind to the environment as they are to your skin, and work a treat for removing stubborn makeup that just doesn't want to budge. You can also buy them in a cute 10 pack for only $3.95 - ideal for your gymbag or handbag!
