I must admit to being a little obsessed with Gwyneth, and perhaps even more so, her hubby right now. Yes, I am one of those people who saw Coldplay in concert this week and have been raving about it ever since. So can you blame me for wanting to feature Mrs. Chris Martin as this week's Fab Face? Of course, Gwyneth is super famous and fab in her own right, but it is intriguing to think which Coldplay songs are based on her, isn't it?
And just as intriguing are her beauty looks, because golly, she's had some good ones! Here are our favourites of all time, and how to bag them for yourself...
1999 Oscar's Night
Not only was this the night Gwyneth caught the world's attention thanks to her big win for Best Actress in Shakespere in Love, she also garnered acclaim thanks to her memorable pale pink Ralph Lauren gown. Accessorising with her own jewels from Harry Winston, including a 40-carat diamond necklace, Gwyn also completed the look with simple hair and makeup - the epitomy of the clean cut American girl. This look is all about dewy skin, and classic lips, paired with super glossy strands. When it comes to creating this base for yourself, make sure to use a hydrating primer product. The MeMeMe Seventh Heaven Face Base is ideal - apply to skin before your base makeup, or even mix some into your foundation for a dewy and radiant look. For the lips, we like Silk Oil of Morocco's Lip Gloss in Moroccan Sunset. Highly pigmented, yet nourishing and glossy, it is the perfect compliment to Gwyn's pink gown. Lastly, the hair. If you want hold plus shine, you can't go past Uspa's Beehold styling product. It won't leave strands greasy or 'hard' looking, thanks to it's super moisturising properties.
In The Talented Mr. Ripley
After her Oscar win, Gwyneth co-starred alongside Matt Damon and Jude Law in The Talented Mr. Ripley. While she didn't have as much screen time as her male co-stars, she certainly stole the limelight when she was on screen thanks to her still enviable and emulate-able 50's look. Set in Italy, mainly along the coast, Paltrow's holiday-chic look highlighted her natural beauty, and gave us plenty of inspiration. This look is a great way of channeling a casual vintage vibe from the era, without the pin up connotations. Rather than bold red pouts and liquid liner, focus on your complexion. A bb cream will help your natural skin shine through, as well as offering some sun protection - perfect for a European holiday! Add a cream blush too. Easier to blend in than a powder or a stain, you can build up the colour as you go. We love Eborian's BB Creme au Ginseng and B by Bloom's Col.lecta Colour Cheek Tint.
As Her Father's Daughter
In more recent times, Gwyn looks just as glowy and fresh. Here, she appeared in Beverly Hills signing copies of her cook book 'My Father's Daughter', a hard copy version of the foodie advice dished up on her lifestlye site Goop. For skin that still sings, no matter your age, make sure to use products containing an SPF, like Dr LeWinn's Skin Perfect Foundation, also perfect for deterring and hiding the signs of aging. And to ace that clear skin of Gwyn's? Why not try one of our fave new products - Skinmiso's Pore Beauty Nose Pack. This step-by-step kit helps to declog pores as well as making them look smaller. Winner!
Which look of Gwyn's is your fave? Do you love her films? Or perhaps you love her hubby's tunes (like me!) Let us know! - Lauren
