I’ve been on a real blush kick lately. I never used to wear blush, always too afraid of looking a bit clownish instead of naturally rosy cheeked. However, having quite pale skin, I’ve now realised that if I want to add a healthy glow to my face all I need is a carefully-placed swipe of blush, and ta-da! My whole face looks healthier, more contoured and like I’ve just been for a brisk walk! I’ve been dying to try out the MeMeMe Blush Me! Blush Boxes since we began stocking them in our store, so a few weeks ago I grabbed the Coral shade to test out – read on for my verdict!
The new addition sitting pretty alongside my ever-growing beauty/makeup stash!
Being a visual person, I must admit that the first thing that I noticed was the beautifully luxurious packaging. The box has a lovely matte texture and upon first opening, I was surprised to see that the box not only contained a soft applicator brush, but also a mirror inside the lid! They’ve thought of everything!
The beautifully packaged blush box with the included MeMeMe brush
I couldn’t wait anymore so I eagerly swirled the included brush in the soft, silky powder and applied to the apples of my cheeks. While super soft and lovely to the touch, I found that the brush’s flat shape wasn’t to my taste (although if you apply your blush differently than me – in the style of contouring on the hollows of your cheeks, rather than on the plump apples of your cheeks – the brush would be quite useful). Instead, I grabbed my own blush brush, one with a full rounded shape and tried again. This time I experienced the full effect of the MeMeMe blush – the soft powder sat beautifully on my face without looking too garish or like something you’d see as a “Don’t!” in the pages of a magazine. It just gave me a healthy glow which I loved and, if the comments from the girls when I got to bb HQ are anything to go by (“You look so fresh this morning!” and “Did you go to the gym this morning or something – your skin looks so radiant!”), it gets the big thumbs up from them too! The coral shade isn’t one I’ve used before – I’ve always favoured a pink shade or a bronzer in place of blush but I really like the way this shade completely shakes up my usual look. I’m sure this is a product I’ll get a lot of use out of, especially in winter when I can look a bit ghost-like if I’m not careful!
Am I brave enough to show before and after pics taken first thing in the morning? Well, I suppose I am amongst friends here, so check it out. The before picture shows me wearing just my beloved Erborian BB Crème on my skin and the after is post-blush application.
Do you wear blush every day and if so, what colour blush do you normally wear? Let me know below!
