The Cedel Blow Dry Faster Heat Protector Spray claims to be able to cut your blow drying time while protecting your hair. Does it live up to the claims? This was definitely a challenge I was up for.
I have to admit to being an extremely lazy blow dryer. I will blast my hair for a minute or so and then get bored and decide to just let it air dry. I know beauty editors are meant to have perfectly groomed hair every day, but that just isn’t me! The thing is my hair always looks better and has so much more volume if I dry it properly, but for some reason I can hardly ever make myself finish drying it off.
So when we decided to include the Cedel Blow Dry Faster Heat Protector Spray in our June bellabox, I knew that this could be a life changing product for me. I absolutely had to try it out.
Cedel describes this product by saying: “Save precious time drying your hair with Cedel Blow Dry Faster Heat Protector spray. This amazing spray really does reduce the time it takes to blow dry your hair. This unique formulation contains silk protein to help protect hair against heat, leaving your hair looking and feeling smooth and super shiny!”
Again, I will make a hair confession. I hardly ever use a heat protector. I use any number of serums, creams and sprays in my hair, but none of them are dedicated heat protectors. So I was pretty excited to try this product out, because my hair could definitely use the extra protection.
After washing my hair, I sprayed the Blow Dry Faster onto my hair and then combed through with a wide toothed comb to ensure it was evenly distributed.
So focused on spraying it properly.
Then I pulled out my Parlux hairdryer. I started blow drying, and I have to admit it was quicker than I expected. Like this thing actually works. There also wasn’t any noticeable product build up in my hair, which is exactly what you want from a heat protector.
Serious hair drying face.
My hair felt soft and smooth, but not weighed down by product. I timed my blow drying: four minutes. Normally it takes me about six or seven minutes with my Parlux - which makes my general laziness about blow drying kind of ridiculous.
To make this a fair comparison, I also tested this out with a Sunbeam hairdryer. And it was just as quick! I couldn’t find the Sunbeam attachment so my hair didn’t look quite as sleek as it would with the Parlux, but it was still soft and manageable. It only took me about five minutes with the Sunbeam.
Even if you don't notice a huge different in your blow dry time (although to be honest, I think you will) this is still a really great heat protector that would be suitable for all types of hair.
