There are some places you need to visit before you die. And there are some photos that you just need to take. They might be dorky, but they’re really so much more fun than the standard landscape shots!
We’re mixing things up a little bit today at bellabox, and as part of our Iconic Beauty theme we’re looking at travel poses, and why you should take them!
Usually we want to look beautiful in our photos, but not always. And seriously, what do you want to look back on – photos that are beautiful but boring, or photos that are amusing and show how much fun you were having?
Touching The Eiffel Tower
You could just stand in front of the Eiffel Tower and smile nicely, or you could pretend you’re touching the top of it. Or holding it. Here’s Harry Styles from One Direction attempting to hold the Eiffel Tower in the palm of his hand. Despite those perfect curls and the too cool expression, he hasn't quite got this right.
Holding Up The Leaning Tower Of Pisa
On the same theme as the Eiffel Tower, yes, you need to do this. Definitely. You might think that this would be awkward, but once you arrive at the Leaning Tower Of Pisa you will see dozens of people posing in different leaning positions all over the grass in front of the tower. On the left is my incredibly poor attempt at this (so many people in the way!), and on the right are some girls who absolutely nailed it.
A Jumping Photo In Front Of A Famous Landmark
This one comes from my own collection, taken at Chichen Itza in Mexico where it was 41 degrees and I wore a towel around my neck to soak up the sweat (#beautytip). Somehow despite the heat, I knew this was a great opportunity for a jump. Make sure to lift your knees up really high, because it looks like you are a champion jumper. This pose would be great in front of the Pyramids of Giza, Uluru, or any really large monument.
Classic Machu Picchu
Nothing says Iconic like a photo of Machu Picchu after you have completed a long trek. I haven’t done this one, but luckily my good mate Zac Efron (ok I’ve never met him) has done it, and he posted the perfect photo for our observation. Look at how he has the perfect proud and happy face, and shows off enough of the landscape so we know exactly where he is. Great work Zac.
A Water Shot That Makes Everyone Jealous
This works best when you have travelled to somewhere hot, but it’s cold at home. When you find a pool that has a great view, simply lean against the edge and gaze out into the distance. Then post this across every single one of your social media accounts at a time when you know your friends will be online. This photo comes from Guatemala, but this pose is transferrable to absolutely anywhere in the world.
