The Golden Globes sure gave us some good beauty looks to steal - amiright ladies?
Top of the list was Julianne Hough - amazing hair that could never be accussed of being red carpet cliched - as well as Nicole Richie for veering into the tricky territory of pale blue shadow (and pulling it off), alongside Kelly Osborne rocking her pale purple tresses and a pretty peach pout.
Although there was one look worn by mulitple celebs that we here at bb loved the most - the bold lip, glam eye and side parted waves trio. Seen on the likes of Miranda Kerr, Jessica Alba and Isla Fisher (and even Kelly to an extent) it's no wonder this look was a top choice. Elegant, feminine and classic enough to let the dresses shine, whilst still looking totally mint.
And if it's good enough for these celebs, it's good enough for us! We loved Isla's look the most, simply because of her two toned lip - it just added that wow factor to her look. Here's how to recreate it for yourself at home...
The first step, after applying a luminous base, is to create a simple yet striking eye.
Next, line your upper lid with a liquid liner in a deep black. To make it extra easy, try the Eye of Horus Liquid Define Liner which comes with a felt tip applicator for even drawing. Finish with lashings of mascara (I used Eye of Horus Mascara) and try applying in three steps. 1. Swoop your brush from the roots to the tips, zig-zagging it slightly as you go to help seperate the lashes. 2. Lightly close your eyes and brush the mascara on in a downwards motion. Try to get as close to the lash line as you can without getting mascara on your eyelid! 3. Swoop your brush from the root to the tips of your lashes again, like in step one. Voila! Lashes that look like falsies minus the application time.
Second, it's on to painting the your lips in the perfect shade.
Isla's lips are so exciting because she's customised her colour. A deep, berry red is juxtaposed against a slightly paler tone in the middle of her bottom lip which not only looks original in its matte texture, but also makes her lips look fuller - double points awarded to Isla! This is how to get it for yourself...
Start with your deep red - or if you can't find the perfect one, blend your own! I used a combination of NSFW and Strumpet, both shades of one of our fave lip products here at bb - Lip Tars. Blending them together, I painted them on with my e.l.f Lip Defining Brush.
Next, I dabbed on the lightest Lip Tar shade - Interlace - into the middle of my lower lip. I simply used my finger so that the colour blended well! Add little by little until you get your perfect shade. The Lip Tar's are perfect for colour blending, as they dry matte like a tint, so they don't continue to blend and bleed into one another.
To finish, add a deep side part to your hair and a few messy curls.
