This serum is just one product with 11 benefits and functions. These are (deep breath)... an anti-frizz cream, a heat styling protectant, a smoothing cream, a detangler, a shine serum, a UV protectant, a damaged cuticle repair cream, a chlorine protectant, a split-end preventative, a body boosting formula, and a colour protectant. Phew! So, how many of these 11 properties did I detect and what did I think?
Packaging:
The Eleven Treatment comes in the signature Eleven creamy packaging with bold text. The full size (125ml) is pretty sizable and looks like it would last a while - especially considering a little goes a long way. I love the look of the rest of the range too - girls who love their neutrals but enjoy a pop of colour will as well!
Texture/Smell:
The product is nice and creamy but also lotion-like. A small pump was enough for my mid-length hair. Now, let's talk about the smell...The smell is AMAZING! Coconut lovers will adore it. That being said, the coconutty scent is a little less bold than what you'd find in the Pure Fiji Coconut Oil for instance, so it isn't too overpowering. Of course once you start to blowdry your hair, the fragrance heats and lifts around you like a tropical halo. Too perfect now that we are staring down the face of a long cold winter!
Application:
I was lucky enough to have this amazing product applied in salon. My amazing hair dresser Cas loves the range as much as I do, so I got the full Eleven experience. After a wash with the Hydrate My Hair Shampoo and Conditioner, Cas massaged the Eleven Miracle Hair Treatment into my damp locks (mainly through the ends). I also 'sampled' the I Want Body Volume Foam (applied right in at the roots for a little lift) and loved it so much, I had to snap up a bottle to take home with me! But back to the Mircale Treatment. We fawned over the scent and chatted happpily about the benefits of it for a good 5 minutes before blowdrying. Apparently it has also been super popular with all of her clients - and even Cas herself. She's also nabbed a bottle for her blonde locks (that is a big tick of approval right there!)
Wear:
Once dry, my hair was surprisingly soft considering I'd just had a heap of blonde foils put in. If I didn't have damaged locks before, I was sure to have some now - blondes might have more fun, but thanks to harsh dye, the also sadly have more split ends. Though, my own 'do was happily silky smooth. Certainly a combination of my still brunette roots, the amazing Eleven stable of hair products gracing them, as well as a little post-colour trim from Cas. Oh and the Parlux dryer she used (one of my FAVOURITE brands of heated styler and coming to the bb store! YAY!) which dries hair in a heartbeat and keep locks from frizzing.
Of the 11 benefits Eleven boasts I certainly noticed a few; my hair was soft, smooth and shiny. I can't wait to see how many more of the 11 I can tick of with continued use (I've been pillaging the bb beauty cupboard for the treatment samples to stockpile, but the secret is out now - we are all loving it!) A devotee of my Cloud Nine styler (right up there with my Parlux) I know I'll get a lot of use simply for the heat protection alone. Plus, it'll be put to work keeping my blonder ends in good nick between visits to Cas!
Verdict:
I left the salon a very happy lass indeed. Not only thanks to my new locks, which desperately needed a refresh, but also thanks to Eleven's products and Mircale Hair Treatment. I'm itching to try the Shampoo and Conditioner over a longer period of time, and even though I'm a big fan of trialling new items at all times - I mean, I do work at bellabox - I could see these being a staple. Especially as all items retail around the $25 mark. Score!
Have you tried any of Eleven's range? Did you love it too? Is your hair in need of a refresh? Do you ever buy products at the salon? Let me know! - Lauren
