Packaging: The Gatineau leg gel comes in a handy plastic squeeze tube – perfect and durable for travel. I nabbed myself a sample size, found in some of the July boxes.
Texture/Smell: I was pleasantly surprised upon squeezing out a delish dollop of this product. I was expecting another body cream like texture but instead found a mega-cooling gel!
Slightly blue/mauve in colour (maybe my eyes are playing tricks on me after such little sleep!) once rubbed in, it becomes translucent on the skin.
Application/Wear: I massaged this into my calves, ankles and feet (yes, they were all bloated thanks to almost 24hours in the air) and instantly felt like they shrunk a few sizes. I’m sure the massaging helped too, but the gel itself feels sooooo good on the skin. A slight tingling, along with the cooling sensation creates the most soothing duo. Adding to the mix is the aforementioned menthol scent. Even though my nose is pretty far away from my gams, it really does add to the relaxing and refreshing component of this product. Another bonus? The gel dries super fast, so you can get dressed fast afterwards if you need to. Me? I was happily sporting my pj bottoms for the next 12 hours and recuperating in my hotel four-poster before hitting the streets of London to acquaint myself with all the culture(/hit the high street. Fashion is culture, right?)
Verdict: I hadn’t heard of a product like this before, but am certainly glad we nabbed it for the July bb right before I departed! Kankles are not a travel essential, which is why this gel certainly is. In fact, I love it so much I’d recommend it to anyone facing a long flight/drive/train-trip/unicycle ride, anytime soon. It would even make a happy accompaniment to many a gym bag, especially in summer. Super relieving and not offensive to the nose like a tiger balm, the Gatineau leg gel will help you relax, refresh and look far less puffy in your summer sandals. Time to go shoe shopping – I hear Harrods calling my name!
