You are never too young to start looking after your skin. And I mean it’s never too early to start investigating different anti-ageing products. Think of them as age-prevention products, because to be honest they are relevant to everyone.
When you’re young your main skin concern is probably pimples. All you think about is drying your skin out to get rid of those spots. As you get older, you might start to discover that your natural hydration starts to fade away, and you end up with some visible signs of ageing on your face.
There’s absolutely nothing wrong with wrinkles. They show character, and I disagree with the idea of freezing your face and completely getting rid of all movement just to temporarily blast away your natural lines.
However, if we don’t look after our skin as we get older we won’t just have wrinkles to worry about. Sun damage is a very real problem in Australia, and can lead to anything from uneven skin tone to melanomas and skin cancer. Dehydrated skin also becomes more obvious as you age, and can make you look tired and run down. Fighting these two issues can mean that you are using products that will actually make your skin look younger – a wonderful side effect if you ask us.
The key things are SPF and hydration. But where do you start? Here are three brands that we included in the June bellabox that we think will really help you look after your skin.
Indio Skincare is specially formulated for the Australian environment. Their products are absolutely fantastic at delivering hydration that will help to slow the ageing process. The first product on your list should be the Age Defence SPF 30+ sunscreen. It nourishes your skin with Vitamin E while protecting it from the sun’s harmful rays. There are also some incredible moisturises within the Indio range. We love the Rebuild Cream, the Clear Moisturiser and Control, but the entire range is great. The best part is, we are stocking Indio in the bb store!
Nutrimetics is an absolutely iconic range in Australia. They have an excellent anti-ageing line called Restore which is formulated with antioxidant Sauvignon Blanc Concentrate. However if you’re not quite ready for those sorts of products, the Nutri-Rich line might be what you’re after. It is formulated with Apricot Kernel Oil, and is suitable for people of all ages. . This month we included samples of the Nutri-Rich Instant Radiance Beauty Balm in the June bellabox. The Beauty Balm is a great pick me up for skin which leaves it looking radiant, firmer and smoother within one hour. We also included the Nourishing Masque, which is clinically proven to continuously increase skin hydration up to 4 hours after one application. Nutrimetics is available from their official website.
Another really hard working product that we sampled in the June bellabox was the La Clinica Gly C Refine Gentle Day Cream, which contains 5% Glycolic Acid. What does Glycolic Acid do? From La Clinica’s website, it “smoothes and rebalances the complexion by promoting the exfoliation of dead skin cells and unclogging blocked pores. Outer layers of the skin are gently peeled away to reveal refined, fresher, younger looking skin for a more radiant appearance.” This day cream is perfect for working on signs of ageing, and is also great for damaged skin like acne marks, sun exposure and environmental factor. It is available from the La Clinica website.
