How do Urban Rituelle's summer scented body scrubs stack up in winter? Lucy took one of their tropical scrubs to the snow to find out!
We’re pretty good at keeping up our beauty routines in summer, but if you’re anything like me you definitely let things fall to the wayside in winter. One of the first things to drop off the list is exfoliating. My face still gets a lot of love seeing as that’s the only part of me you can really see in the colder months, but the rest of me needs some care too!
Last week I was lucky enough to spend some time on Mt Buller, during its best snow season in years. But after days boarding on the slopes and nights playing the most intense games of spoons you’ve ever seen, I definitely needed to have a nice shower. Whether you’re rugged up in snow gear or a woolly jumper, it’s extremely important to exfoliate!
Though cell turnover is more or less the same year-round, skin cells tend to die off more quickly during the winter months due to lower humidity. Those freezing gusts of wind on the way to work, followed by the warm air from the heating only moments later, literally sucks the moisture out of your skin! Regular, gentle exfoliation is extremely important to lift those dead skin cells, and other unwanted build-up.
I took the Urban Rituelle Beach Comber Body Scrub with me, in Island Citrus. Not only does is smell AMAZING (like it smells really, really good. Trust me), but it was a really effective exfoliator. There are heaps of body scrubs out there, but I find many of them have these tiny beads that just don’t seem to do anything. The Urban Rituelle Body Scrubs contained something that felt a bit like sand, which might not sound very appealing but worked really well. As soon as you’re finished it washes straight off and you’re left with smooth skin that smells like Summer. It’s probably a bit harsh to use on your face, but is so great for legs and arms that need something a little tougher. The Aloe Vera and Coconut Oil left my skin feeling smooth and moisturised, it was like an all in one!
Urban Rituelle is an Australian brand based in Sydney, who focus on bath and body care. Though a lot of the makeup I have comes from overseas brands, I definitely like to buy Australian skin care products as they better cater to the weather conditions we face here. I’m always a sucker for pretty packaging aswell, so this fits the bill! I can see myself using this product all year round.
