With 'Shades of Grey' being a hot current topic, we thought it would be the perfect theme for this edition of Style Sunday! Read on for our favourite three grey beauty looks (that's anything but 'grey and boring'!)
Some may say that 'grey is the new black'. It is a versatile shade to perfect tricky, trans-seasonal dressing - you can dress it up, dress it down and everything in between. There's so many hues of grey that you can afford to wear it from head to toe without looking too matchy-matchy (like Miss Port pictured above) We've take the grey fashion trend and translated it into the three beauty looks below - which one would you rock?
1. Grey Smokey Eye
Shimmery grey smokey eyes are a surefire way to get add instant sexiness to any outfit. Essentially, all you need is three eyeshadow shades to achieve this look - shimmery white, silver grey and dark grey or black. We'd recommend Prestige Cosmetics Duo Eyeshadow in Zebra for the first two shades you and B By Bloom Col.lecta Eyeshadow in 'Black Sea' for the third shade. To summarise the look simply - apply the shimmery white under the brow bone and inner corner of the eyes to highlight, apply the silver grey as a wash over the entire lid and the first half of the lower waterline, and finally apply the dark grey or black shade to the very outer corner of the eyes and lower waterline (for a more detailed breakdown of how to perfect the smokey eye, check out this Wakeup Your Makeup article)
2. Grey Mani
Grey nail colour is definitely a very recent trend, rewind a couple of years and you wouldn't see many girls rocking this shade on their fingers! Grey is clean and neutral and guarantees you don't have to change your nail colour after just a few days wear because it can match virtually any outfit. Here at bb, we are loving the two grey-hued nail colours from Ozotic - #333 Chalk and #341 Light Grey. Ozotic nail polishes are exceptionally long-wearing and free from nasties such as toluene, DBP, formaldehyde and camphor.
3. Grey-toned Hair
Ok, we admit that grey-toned hair is at the very extreme end of the spectrum when it comes to grey beauty looks. But with celebrities like Lady Gaga, Katy Perry and Nicki Minaj showing off their crazy coloured 'dos, it's not a surprise more and more girls are dying their hair unconventional colours. For those who often dye and/or bleach their hair, it's super important to use a good quality hair repair shampoo and conditioner and a nourishing treatment. One of our favourites here at bb are the Royal Moroccan hair care range. The Hair Repair Shampoo and Conditioner contain Argan and Candula oils to replenish and moisturise, as well as Vitamin C to repair and strengthen. After towel-drying your hair, rub some Royal Moroccan Serum Treatment into the roots of your locks for long-term conditioning.
