The June 2013 Editor's Letter

For those of you who don't know me, I'm Lauren, the Editor here at bb! In this edition of the Editor's Letter, I talk you through the theme of June and a little of what you can expect to see inside this month's box...

Last month we were thrilled to hear from all the fans of our May Beauty SOS box - full of items to save you from a beauty drama. This month, we're bringing something just as needed for many of you... Our Girls Night In... Girls Night Out! box. You've spoken and we've listened - a night to yourselves is what you all want and need, so we're providing the treats!

The Girls Night In... Girls Night Out! box has been handpicked to give you what you deserve - a beauty-filled night in OR a wild night out, preferably both spent with your best girlfriends! With products to prep for a party, including some to take with you to help you feel glam, we've also chosen products for pampering at home. Because Winter weather can make it hard to leave the comfort of your PJs and couch on a Saturday night... but sometimes a few too many drinks at home with your girls can lead to an impulsive night out on the town too! So, which ever you choose, we've got a few products to help make it more special! So what can you expect to see inside...

We heard from hundreds of you on facebook so we've decided to reveal 2 items from June - one for pampering, one for partying:

First, we introduce a product that won't break the bank but will give you a healthy dose of pampering in less than half an hour - the Passion Peel Off Face Mask from Montagne Jeunesse.

This little mask works to remove dead skin cells and refresh your complexion. Infused with Pomegranate and Passion Flower, it's perfectly packaged in a single use, so you know exactly how much to apply (also making it ideal to travel with! If you want to save it up, it's small enough to keep in your cosmetics case for any last minute radience prepping). To use, apply to a freshly cleansed face, relax for around 20 minutes, then when dry, pull off, or wash away any residue with warm water.

Another tick of approval against this radiance-inducer is that it's free of gluten or nut derivatives. While eating your mask isn't adivsed (even though it smells amazing!) gluten or nut intolerant ladies can apply without fretting - it's always important to remember that many of your beauty products are designed to sink into skin, so checking ingredients is a must if you suffer strongly from any allergies. Montagne Jeunesse are also passionate about not testing on animals - their products are happily vegetarian!

The second product we're revealing for June is ace for a night out. Having worked as a model in Europe, formerly snapped for the likes of Ralph Lauren, Estée Lauder and Chanel, the face and brains behind this brand was inspired to develop a lip gloss range that ticks all the boxes.

Katrin Wallis founded StreetStar with her partner her after moving to Aus, and we are so excited to bring every single June box one of her creations. Enriched with Vitamin E, hypoallergenic and as pigmented as the colour of her glosses suggest, these golden tipped wands turn everything we thought we knew about the humble lipgloss on its head.

StreetStar glosses are many things, but they aren't sticky, drying or too sheer. In fact, as a lipstick devotee, they've made me reasses gloss and its former lack of inclusion in my beauty picks. Let's just say that if StreetStar are anything to go by, glosses have come a long way in the last few years. One of my biggest gripes when it come to gloss is that it never seems to be pigmented enough. Funnily enough, this was the main prompt of 'WOW's in the office when we got our hands on Katrin's range. Every shade is not only colourful, but easily wearable too. We found some gloss inspiration, below:

- The soft yet pigmented shade of Transparent Baby Pink belies its name - the colour pops against skin, like Alexa's pretty pink pout.

- Lily's caramel hued hair matches a nude glossy lip perfectly - the Natural Brown gloss glides on in a similar shade.

- The Terracotta Brown StreetStar gloss is a match for Blake's deeper nude lips

- Whilst the super bright Perfect Red contains the same punchy hue as any moisturising lipstick, and give great gloss like Miranda does above.
