Sam is back with another installment of the weekly ins and outs of bbHQ! Enjoy!
Landed!
Silk Oil of Morocco – Lip Gloss Infused with Organic Argan Oil
The full range of colours arrived this week at bbHQ and will be popping up in the online store shortly. Not only are the colours beautiful, the nourishing formula leaves your lips soft and smooth. My faves are Ruby for a soft shiny red and Bliss for the perfect nude colour.
Nak hair products
If you were lucky enough to receive a Nak Aroma Oil in your April box, you will know how gorgeous their products are, so when Daryl from Nak sent me these goodies, I was quietly thrilled. Once, my hair dresser sculpted my hair into a perfectly symmetrical quiff, and claimed it was all due to styling powder. I have never been game to try one myself, but now I have no excuse and will this weekend be sporting a towering ‘do!
Smelling!
Perfumies
When the lovely Lucy in Marketing first joined bellabox, she introduced Sarah and I to a really cute product called Perfumies. They are sweet little solid perfume sticks, perfect for tucking into your handbag. They have a huge range of fragrances, we have sniffed out the best 10 fragrances and they will be landing in the online store this weekend. My pick is Cashmere with notes of Lily, Sandalwood and creamy Vanilla, a perfect scent for the cold weather!
Talking About...
Rock of Ages, the movie and Sally Hansen
Even though I have an unabashed love for bogan glam metal and have undying devotion to Motley Crue and Guns and Roses, I had no desire to see the play when it hit Australia. Bring it out on the big screen, add Tom Cruise and I’m there. I know! I know! He is a little left of centre these days, but I am still stuck with the memory of him in Top Gun. Along with Iceman and various big haired rock gods, he was my teenage crush and my friend Sarah and I used to watch Top Gun on the new fangled Video player - pausing and rewinding the beach scene!
Tom Cruise in 'Top Gun'
Back then I certainly dressed the part of rock chick, black tight jeans, studded boots, and band t-shirts with teased hair and painted talons. My mum used to tell me that I would grow out this stage and I wouldn’t wear black and studs when I grew up. For those of you who read Beauty Desk last week, you will know that this is not true, and for those of you that know me, you will know that my wardrobe is still pretty much the same! The only difference is the studs are now on Louboutins, the aviators are Chanel and instead of getting creative with black nail polish like I used to, we have wonderful nail strips to play with! Check these Sally Hansen Salon Effects Limited Edition Real Nail Polish Strips created just for Rock of Ages. Today I am wearing the black lace (called 'fingerlace gloves'), just like the fingerless lace gloves I wore back in the day! Click the link above to go straight to their facebook competition page and enter to be in the running to win tickets to a preview screening or a private screening of the film for you and 10 friends!
