Who has gotten sucked in to the Jubilee big-time? We definitely have. Don't get me wrong, we have nothing but props for Her Majesty on 60 years reigning as the Head of the Monarchy - God bless her! But Union Jack fever has caught on at bbHQ far more than expected - particularly in terms of nail art! Just type 'Jubilee Nails' into Pinterest and feast your eyes on the hundreds of amazing beauty artworks 'at hand'! We've even found that our beauty preferences have been influenced by HRH and family. Read on for some of our best product match ups for the Windsors!
Of course, Kate Middleton is right up there in the Royal fashion stakes. We are the first to admit that her style choices are often over-hyped, but over the past weekend Princess Kate looked McQueen-nificent! Dressed in the cult British fashion brand on three occasions during the celebrations, Kate looked amazing and appropriate.
These dresses are definitely out of our reach, but we can always play with beauty products inspired by her look!
On the left, Kates creamy pink lace dress is perfection! Neutral tones suit almost every skin shade under the sun, and are often the cornerstone for classic beauty looks. One of the most versatile beauty kits around, featuring these tones, is the MeMeMe Pink Best Seller Bundle. Including a subtle blush, lipgloss and nail colour, these shades will make your beauty look as cohesive as Kate's stunning outfit (Hmmm...is it too early to take inspiration for the Spring Racing Carnival from here?)
Kate's red dress in the middle look is Ah-mazing! We love her bold colour choice - red always seems to suit brunettes splendidly! For a touch of this shade to your everyday look, you can't go past a true-red lipstick. Savior Faire Lipsticks are a firm favourite with the bb girls and the Risqué shade is almost exactly the same colour as Kate's frock. Wear on those days you need a little beauty pick-me-up; the concentrated colour on your pout will detract from any blemishes/dull skin. You'll feel positively royal!
Lastly, the dramatic tones of Kate's deep teal/blue dress (on the far left) gave the Princess a dark edge. For a touch of moodier tones that are still ultimately sweet, we recommend the Prestige Cosmetics Duo Eyeshadow in Zebra. Containing two eyeshadow shades that can be juxtaposed to create definition and drama together in one compact, the smooth consistency wears comfortably and won’t crease. Perfect for long days on the publicity circuit with Wills (in our dreams!) Now to work on that bouncy, shiny hair of hers too!
Of course, Kate isn't the only royal you can take beauty cues from. The past long weekend celebrations in the UK were all about the Queen afterall, and she looked stunning for all her 86 years (60 of them on the throne!)
Her shining, subtly metallic frock was perfect for the occasion and her fashion choices always prove that she is not your average Grandmother! This colour is another winner for suiting many skintones. We also love a soft touch of metallic for day - save the crazier glittery shades for night! One of our favourite products that has this kind of subtle sheen is the Napoleon Perdis Créme de la Créme Eyeshadow in Quicksilver. Soft and silky, the formula is easy to apply with the creamy texture ensuring even coverage. A great shadow option to wear alone during the day, or layered with darker shades for party time!
We can't forget about our two Royal Princes! William always looks regal and commanding in his regalia. Got to love a man in uniform! Plus, he looks so tall and handsome!
For a black beauty product that lengthens your lashes, we can't go past Bobbi Brown's Lash Glamour Extreme Lengthening Mascara. The formula, combined with the awesome brush and bristles, give you long, seperated lashes that look pretty rather than show-girl like - no clumping here! The Queen would definitely approve!
Finally, to round out the Royal eye-candy from the Jubilee weekend festivities, we had to include the 'cheeky' Prince, the man of many-a-woman's dreams, Price Harry! This man has to be the most popular red-head in the world, and we love him for it!
For the perfect tone of orange that perfectly mimicks the shade our cheeks would flush should we ever meet him, we love the MeMeMe Blush Me! Blush Box in Coral. The warm, healthy glow of the blush is super easy to apply with the compact box coming complete with a handy mirror and brush for on-the-go application.
Did you love watching the Jubilee celebrations as much as we did? Who is your favourite Royal? And tell us, did you want to marry Wills or Harry when you were little? (I've always been team Harry!) - Lauren
