This week we take the opportunity to say congratulations to the newest mums and dads in Hollywood! These lucky celebs have all welcomed their own little bundles of joy into the world and swapped their glam red carpet looks for the chilled-out bliss of casual, jean-wearing days with bub! But just because you've had a baby doesn't mean you should let go of your primping routine, especially if this is what you enjoying doing in order to make yourself look and feel good. Afterall, a new addition to the family changes lots of things, but it needn't change your love of beauty and pampering products - and you need to take care of yourself before you can take care of anyone else! Read on for our product recommendations to these new parents to make their beauty routines even better than before!
Charlize Theron
Charlize recently adopted her beautiful baby boy Jackson, announcing the arrival of her son in March. Jackson, who Charlize describes as "the coolest kid ever", is certainly a cutie and has fulfilled Charlize's dreams of becoming a mum. The beautiful, South African born star has always been a hit on the red carpet, but also comes across as humble and down-to-earth; a real natural beauty! We think Charlize would love our range of Yes to Carrots C Me Shine Lip Glosses. Made with natural ingredients, these glosses add a lovely sheen to the lips and are great to have in your handbag for on-the-go gloss and moisturisation for your lips. At only $9.95, why not a grab a few and stash one in each of your carry alls to rid yourself of dry lips for good? Plus, they are called C Me Smile - which is totally fitting for someone who just adopted a beautiful baby. We bet Charlize can't wipe the smile off her face!
Selma Blair
Selma Blair always rocks great glamourous style on the red carpet but has swapped her slinky dresses for cute beanies and biker boots of late. One thing she certainly hasn't changed is her amazing skin, which always look glowy when worn with or without makeup. To get your skin looking as good as Selma's, it is important to use a great primer. Primer creates a blank canvas on your skin for superior makeup application. It stops your skin from 'eating' up your base - in other words your makeup stays put for longer. Using a primer also helps you to achieve a great coverage without too much foundation, which in turn means less makeup that can potentially clog pores. We love Napoleon Perdis Auto Pilot Pre-Foundation Primer which does all of the above whilst also providing nourishing and moisturising qualities for your face. The smell is also divine!
PS: How cute is Selma's and her son's matching grey cards?!
January Jones
January Jones used to be a model, so it is no surprise that she has always had the 'wow factor' when stepping out at premiers. However, Jany still looks amazing dressed in her casual best - jealous? Us? Never! (sigh!) Even though it is fun to get dressed up, there is no better feeling than that of being fresh and natural, and we think January would love our Glamourflage Sexy Sadie Body Scrub to get her skin feeling as soft and new as her little bub Xander's! This scrub contains the anti-inflammatory, exfoliant and purifying qualities of walnuts whilst also being gently cleansing with coconut extract and aloe-vera. Moisturising coconut oil and Vitamin E will leave your skin feeling soft in your favourite pair of jeans or in your best black tie gown!
We also think Jones would love Sexy Sadie, the cover girl for this scrub, as she has the same 50's style sass as the Mad Men ladies!
Marion Cotillard
French beauty Marion welcomed her bub Marcell nearly a year ago. The cute tot turns one on May 19th! Marion's French style has seen her as a red carpet dark horse; she does fashion-forward mixed with a little edge and always manages to pull it off! We think Marion would also think outside the box when it comes to skincare and give our Bellamer Botanical Skincare Eye Treatment Balm a try instead of basic eye creams. The Bellamer Balm is a great multipurpose product which works as a daily and evening moisturiser for under eyes, as a wrinkle fighter at night, as a primer for eyeshadow and as a treatment for dry and irritated skin around the eyes! We bet Marion has had a little less sleep since Marcell came along, but the Bellamer Balm is sure to keep her lovely peepers looking fresh!
Pink
Pink is the typical rock chick but is also one hot mama! Instead of her signature bright colour from her early days, Pink now favours platinums and metallics since the birth of her daughter Willow. We love her nude coloured polish above left, and think our Ozotic Nail Polish #333 Chalk is a great option. Transitioning from day to night, this colour will go with anything and being chip resistant, Ozotic are a great polish choice for busy mums who don't have time to constantly retouch.
Curtis Stone and Lindsay Price
And last but not least, we can't forget about the dads, who also need a little TLC once a new bub comes along! We love Curtis Stone and his partner Lindsay Price, who welcomed their bub Hudson late last year. The kitchen can be a harsh environment for the skin, so we recommend Milk and Co. Scrub + Cleanse Wipes for Curtis. The dual sided wipes exfoliate and clear away daily residue and oil and can be used by men and women alike - we bet Lindsay would also love them as they are great for removing makeup too!
And there you have it! Becoming a new mum or dad needn't mean you have to give up the smaller pleasures in life and treating yourself with a great new eye treatment or nail polish is the perfect thing to put a little spring back in your step if you are feeling a little (or a lot) tired!
Are you a new mum or dad? Or maybe you know a new parent? Why not treat them with a gift they can use to pamper themselves instead of a gift just for bub? We bet you will be the new favourite 'aunt' or 'uncle' if you do! - Lauren
