What's on for your weekend? No matter what I have planned, I'll always try to fit a little nail painting time in when I can spare it...
... Not just because I hate having chipped nails but also because I find it very theraputic. Some might call that weird, but for me, painting my nails has become a mindless task that I can do in front of the television - one which results in a glossy mani that has the potential to last me well into the week ahead. The marriage of an at-home mani and watching the box is one made in chill-sesh heaven. In the time it takes me to keep up with the Kardashians, or take a trip through Debbie Vickers' Puberty Blues, or be freaked out by more than enough True Blood pumping out of Sookie's veins (I have Foxtel iQ - praise the Lord!) I'll have a set of freshly painted nails to show for it, as well as being up to date for any 'water cooler' TV related convos at work on Monday.
And then there are the times that my manis are even inspired by whatever show happens to be at the top of my viewing list. Case in question: Caggie Dunlop's multi-coloured mani as seen on Made in Chelsea.
For those who don't watch, Caggie is a well-to-do member of the young and wealthy Chelsea set. You can tell she wants to be a bohmeian with all her heart, but the size of her wallet (or should I say quilted Chanel?) always seems to overshadow any true-hippy cred. However, there is one thing about Caggie's style that is all hers and hers alone (in Chelsea anyway); her manis.
Painting each nail a different colour is not only the best way to use up all of those coloured polishes languishing in your beauty bag, but it is also one of the easiest ways to try nail art - you only need to be able to paint! This look is great for the new spring season (Hello, colour!) and is ideal for the weekend. If you work in a relaxed environment, differently coloured nails will also make you feel that little bit happier when you look down at your keyboard whilst typing!
My multi mani paired with my go-to sunnies for spring
In terms of colours, you can't really go wrong. Stick to the primary ones, like Cag's, or try pastel tones (big for spring) If you really need some inspiration though, you can't go past the MeMeMe Nail Brights Collection. With four amazing, cute and tropical looking hues, your pinkies and all the nails in-between will be attention grabbing in lime, orange, hot pink and turquoise. Plus, for a very limited time only, the set is 20% off! Snap yours up before midnight on Monday 10th of September to make the most of this stunning shaded polish deal - Caggie would approve!
Have you ever tried the multi-coloured nails? Why not make it this weekend's beauty wonder? - Lauren
