Have you ever tried using a wet brush on your eyeshadow? It will take your colour to the next level, and is something that is definitely worth experimenting with.
We sampled the Mary Kay At Play Baked Eye Trio and Mineral Eye Palette in our June bellabox, and of course I can’t resist metallic colours. So I had to have a little play around with these!
The eyeshadows are incredibly pigmented and long lasting, and they come in gorgeous, wearable shades. You can wear one shade at a time, or create different looks by blending a combination of the colours. The great thing about baked shadows is that you can use them dry or wet. Dry will give you a beautiful shimmery shade, while wet will create a vibrant colour that really pops.
I created a smokey eye with the Tuxedo trio. I used the white as a wash, and blended the grey and black across my eyelid. This is just a light application of the colours, with a dry brush.
And then I used a wet brush to create a winged look. I find it easiest to wet the brush under the tap, and then dip it into the shadow. I don’t like to drip water onto my eyeshadows.
Here’s the Ocean View trio dry. This is a sea themed trio with blue shades.
And here’s how vibrant that blue becomes when it's wet!
I love a versatile product, that that’s exactly what these eyeshadows are. You can go shimmery for day or vibrant for an evening look.
Mary Kay is a brand that we love at bellabox. They have a huge range of products, and you can even work for them as a Beauty Consultant. Find out more about Mary Kay at their official website.
