There’s no doubting how much we love Asian beauty innovations at bellabox, but Yu-Be moisturizing skin cream has to be one of our all time favourites. For anyone struggling with persistent dry skin consider this wonder cream you new best friend.
So what is Yu-Be? It’s a Japanese moisturiser that is really great for targeting extremely dry areas of your skin. It was created in 1957 by Yoshikiyo Nowatari in his Japanese pharmacy. He wanted to make a moisturiser that wasn't petroleum based, and the product he created was quickly embraced by the Japanese people. The combination of glycerin, hyralouronic acid, vitamin E and vitamin B2 makes for serious moisture that can be used on dry hands, feet, cuticles, heels, elbows, knees and lips. It’s fast absorbing and is safe for the whole family.
My hands are so dry all year round and especially in Winter that they crack, so I need a hardworking moisturiser. This is exactly what Yu-Be is, and it leaves my skin feeling really soft. The texture is thick but it absorbs extremely quickly and doesn’t feel sticky or greasy.
This isn't a fun scented hand cream that leaves your skin feeling nice for a few minutes, and then actually seems to leave your skin drier. It was originally marketed in Japan as a medicinal cream, as opposed to a beauty cream. The first sign that this is a serious moisturiser is the scent. There's no pretty floral scent, instead I would describe the smell as medicinal, similar to eucalyptus. It's also yellow, which is a pretty unusual colour for a skin cream! Of course it goes on clear, and the smell fades away very quickly as well.
If you’ve got incredibly dry feet or elbows then you might want to try the Yu-Be Heel & Elbow Moisturizing Sock. You basically soak your dry elbow or heel in water for a bit to open the pores, apply some Yu-Be to the dry area and then wear the sock overnight. You’ll wake up to moisturised, soft skin.
Have you tried Yu-Be? What do you think? Let me know in the comments - Julia
